I like the comment feature because it allows you to enter into dialogue with team members and get their feedback.
Unlike the newsletter form of communication TL's can build a better relationship using the stream to share info with active PSA's and CSA's. This sets it apart from other forms of communication.
Unlike the Leadership page, posting to the stream allows for the development of a community within a team. Due to the Comment and Like features relationships between members and their downline are strengthened.
When used wisely, the stream can be used to build a strong team, through effective communication. This is an asset for building your business.
These are some reasons for using the stream:

-To draw your downline's attention to changes that would affect them
-To congratulate them and recognize their achievements
-To share your experiences and own accomplishments
