The key to finding affiliates who are truly interested in SFI and will remain active is to target your advertising, and to communicate with your team.

It is essential to target your advertising for people who are interested in creating an income from home. There will always be people who sign up to look around and never come back. However, if you target your advertising to people who have an interest in this kind of thing, you will have a higher percentage of affiliates who decide to look more closely at the opportunity. This is your first step.

The second step is to communicate with your new affiliates, and to help them understand SFI. This is easier said than done! It is important to guide interested affiliates through the first few days. Unless they understand how the program works, they will not stay.

Lastly, for those affiliates who learn and understand the program, you need to communicate to them how to duplicate your success. Teach them how to advertise and how to teach their own affiliates.

How do you explain the importance of MRP (Member Reward Points) to your PSAs?

Member Reward Points, or MRP, are a form of TripleClicks currency, and are like a little rebate for spending your money on items, or for using TCredits for auction bids and Pick-the-Price guesses.

MRP can be used for purchasing most items at TripleClicks, including lots of information-rich ebooks, but you do not earn VP with purchases made with MRP (unless it's a TC Direct item).

Most people use the MRP earned for buying single TCredits. This, in essence, cashes them in for VersaPoints (VP). VP points can help you maintain your Executive Affiliate status, and therefore entitle you to various income streams, such as shares of the executive pool, CSAs, CSA commission, ECA royalties, free TCredits each month, and access to all SFI's Power Tools. Retaining your EA status and teaching your own affiliates to do the same is vital to your success in SFI.

Both are important.

In the short-term, it is easier to make money by commissions through active PRM purchases. However, in the long-term, building an active team will give you more (residual) income.

You should focus on both of them. It's part of my daily routine to post (free) ads for both. Find a new site every day to advertise on, and you will find some gems, both PRMs who make purchases, and PSAs who actively build their own team.

The first step to becoming a superstar in SFI is to learn the program. To do this, you need to read, read, read. You need to log in every day, learn the basics, and keep learning. Learn how to advertise. Learn how to teach your team to do what you do.

You should lead by example. If you are not doing something, how can you expect your team to do it? Be a good role model, and give your team a solid leader to duplicate.

It is important to set goals. Set goals for yourself, and also for your team members. Help them set their own goals. Equally important, divide those goals into smaller goals, and figure out how you're going to get there. Build a road map to your success. Follow it every day, faithfully. By being consistent and determined, your motivation will keep you on the path to realizing your goals, one day at a time. One goal at a time.

Another important quality in an SFI superstar is innovation. Yes, it's important to follow the proven steps that work, but - to really shine - it's also important to forge new paths to success. If we are complacent, we will eventually become obsolete. SFI continues to forge ahead with new improvements each month, and we as leaders need to do the same.

You must first learn the system, then lead your team by example. You must set goals for yourself and help your team set theirs. Finally, you must be continually looking at ways to improve your business. These are four of the most important aspects of being successful in SFI, and they are vital to becoming a superstar.

What's the best way to get new affiliates signed up without having to answer a lot of questions first?

The best way to get affiliates to sign up without having to answer a lot of questions first is to tell them they can opt out any time. There is no cost to join. Come in, look around, ask questions, learn about the program, and if you decide it's not for you, then you are welcome to opt out. And I promise no one will bother you if you choose to leave. :)

I have used this approach when talking to people who are interested in work-at-home jobs. The truth is, the majority of people are either looking for free money, or for an hourly-wage-type job. This is neither. But who knows - maybe it is something they'd be interested in. I always ask people to go through the LaunchPad lessons and the SFI Basics before they decide, so they have a better idea of what SFI is and how it works.

Most of the people who sign up do NOT choose to opt out, though. Even if they decide not to be active, they still receive my weekly and monthly newsletters. Often, the emails they get will pique their interest, and some of them come back and take another look around.

The best way to get results with TC gift cards is to offer then in Pricebender ads. Use simple text ads (taken from the sales page), and then offer free bids if they contact you.

There are lots of ways to give out TC gift cards, though. I put one in each physical order I ship out from my business (unless they are TC members already). I stop at garage sales, and offer them a free alternative to get rid of anything they have left over when their sale is done. I add them to gratuity when I eat out, use a taxi, or order in a pizza.

I will also put them in holiday cards this year with a little note attached, for extended family and friends who don't normally get gifts. There are lots of ideas. Be creative, and be sure to communicate their value to the recipient. I think that is the most important thing. If they know what they're getting before they get to the store, they are more likely to use it.

The BEST standing order for financially challenged affiliates will be different for different people.

The CHEAPEST route to maintain your EA status until you have a solid, active team, is to purchase enough (1 TCredit) units to get to your 1500 VP. I think about 50 people have already said that.

I don't think that's the best way, though. If someone can afford $18.90, then I think they can probably afford $29.00 for a (100 TCredit) pack.

Let's get real. I do not want to "buy" my EA rank. I want to build my team. I am not going to be able to build my team by buying 10 single TCredits. If I purchase 100 TCredits, I have a chance to win an auction and improve my business.

You could aim for a Custom Prestige Domain. It will enhance your advertising. You can try for the IAHBE subscription. That will give you EA for three (or six) months in a row, PLUS it will give you access to a tremendous amount of information you can use to BUILD YOUR BUSINESS. You could aim for CSAs or PSAs, and your team will grow.

In addition to this, you can use the MRP you get from bidding (1000-2000 MRP, for a 100 TCredit pack) to purchase single TCredits the following month. In the long run, this will build your business a lot faster than "buying" single TCredits for VP just to keep your rank.

You can also "save up" your MRP and purchase a Custom Prestige Domain for 2224 MRP (Item #182069). If you bid in DP (double MRP point) auctions, you will save them up twice as fast. :D

Quality is more important than quantity. It is better to have 5 active team leaders than to have 1,000 inactive affiliates.

If you have active affiliates, you need to work with them so they can learn to duplicate your actions.

However, there are so many inactive affiliates, you need to keep sponsoring more and more of them to find the gems.

You should focus on making your gems shine, but you should also continue to look for more. This is how your income will grow over time. :)

The most important thing to do is to read. Read, read, read. All the information you need to succeed is on SFI. Readers are leaders. Earn as you learn. It may seem cliché, but it's very true. :D

Which is more effective--paid or free advertising--and why?

Both paid and free advertising can be effective.

First of all, free advertising is not really free. It takes up time, and we all know that time is money. For affiliates who have little or no time for "free" advertising, paid advertising may be more effective for them.

In order for paid advertising to be effective, though, you need to know what you're doing. If you are new to advertising online, be careful with paid advertising. You can waste a lot of money with very little results.

Spend some time - on SFI, at the IAHBE site if you have a subscription, and on the internet in general - and learn about advertising methods, how to be more effective, and how best to utilize different types of paid advertising.

I think it is better for new affiliates to start off with free advertising, then as they learn more, they can get into paid advertising, if they have the funds available.
